Your video needs to meet the technical requirements of the publishers that carry CTV inventory. Bronco checks every video against those requirements automatically and shows the results right on the creative's card.
The safe target
If your video meets these specs, it will pass validation everywhere:
Container: MP4
Resolution: 1920×1080
Aspect ratio: 16:9
Duration: exactly 15, 30, or 60 seconds
Video codec: H.264, constant frame rate, progressive scan
Frame rate: 23.976, 24, 25, 29.97, or 30 fps
Video bitrate: 10–40 Mbps
Audio: AAC stereo (2 channels), 48 kHz, at least 192 kbps
File size: under 1 GB
Export at these settings from any editing tool and you're covered.
What Bronco accepts for upload
The Creative Library accepts MP4, MOV, and AVI files up to 2 GB. Uploading is deliberately more permissive than the publisher specs — you can upload first and see exactly what, if anything, needs fixing.
How validation works
After a video finishes processing, its card shows the outcome:
Green check — passes all publisher validations. Ready to run anywhere.
Red chip (for example, "2 Failed") — one or more checks didn't pass. Click the chip to open the Validations panel.
The Validations panel breaks results down by publisher. For each requirement you'll see either a green check or a red pill showing your video's actual value — for example, a duration pill reading "22s" when the publisher requires 15, 30, or 60 seconds — so you know precisely what to change in your export settings.
Publisher requirements at a glance
The two publisher rule sets differ mainly in strictness:
Disney/Hulu accepts a resolution range (1280×720 up to 1920×1080), MP4/MOV/M4V containers, audio at 128 kbps or higher, files up to about 1.9 GB, and durations of 6, 15, 30, 45, 60, or 90 seconds.
Tubi is stricter: exactly 1920×1080, MP4 only, audio at 192 kbps or higher, and files up to about 1 GB, with the same accepted durations.
Both require 16:9 aspect ratio, stereo audio, the standard frame rates listed above, and 10–40 Mbps video bitrate. Meeting the Tubi spec means you also meet the Disney/Hulu spec.
Fixing a failing creative
A creative's technical properties are baked in at upload, so the fix is always the same: re-export the video with corrected settings and upload the new file. The Details panel (in the card's ⋮ menu) shows your current file's exact properties, which makes it easy to spot the difference against the specs above.
No editing software?
If you don't have a way to produce a compliant video, Creative Studio can build one for you from an Instagram post or clips you already have — its output is rendered TV-ready automatically. See Creative Studio: Starting a Project.
